'Cauda equina neuritis' has anyone had a horse diagnosed with this?

No but I would be finding a good cranio sacral therapist to help with it

Hello. You could google Anne Kershaw as she travels a lot and is a Cranio Sacral Therapist and does other magnificant therapies also. She is very reasonable. I studied Cranio Sacral therapy too but she travels more

Feed storage solutions. Those who need to store large amounts of hard feed what do you use? Where did you get it from?

Ditto old large freezer but they are rather like a hen with teeth I'm afraid - RARE to find LOL Other than that a shipping container depending on just how big you want to go ... Or heavy plastic barrels that have been cleaned thoroughly.

2 large chest freezers - one I already had & keep my feed in, the other one I got from Chel's nana [with the help of B&P] and I keep tack in it as a nice handy large rat proof container.

I have 3 old chest freezers that aren't working... got them free or minimal cost. Try calling the dump and see if they have any they need recycling :)

Rats just love chewing thru big heavy plastic barrells. Takes a bit longer. Ditto freezer.

Feed in use I keep in an old chest freezer, stuff "in waiting" stays in my float cos I don't use it through winter, and it's shed-stored, and mice can't get in =)

And... I can help you out with a chest freezer too.... if youre interested in one - not as big as the one Helen has got though. The school has one that died that they are trying to rehome. Let me know if your interested in it and I will check it is still sitting there in the morning... redline at that extra place

Used to use old freezers, but found they took up too much room for the amount of storage. I now use wheelie bins...plus a lot of the small wheelie bins from The Warehouse...they are perfect...fit a full bag of horse feed perfectly

Thanks Jan F have emailed you! Need something that can fit a couple bags of feed in at least. Rats are too well fed around here!

Just a heads up- I had a rat chew through a wheelie bin. Do not want to even think about the size of the rat!!!

I have two old chest freezers, a fridge freezer on its side and a large fridge (upstanding, use this one for supplements etc). I find rats chew through plastic unless it is super thick stuff and the super thick bins are very expensive (and the rats get through them eventually too!). I got mine from friends and family.

Morning all, odd question; what is you preferred style/brand of underwear for riding, and why? After getting horribly chaffed on a LONG hack I am reviewing my riding underwear situation!

  Sharon from Raglan   www.treknz.co.nz  9:17AM    17-May-12
My preference is Thunderpants, I think you can buy them in some stores but I buy off the website thunderpants.co.nz. I have heard the Fanny Adams ones being sold on TM (equestrian section) are good too.

Can HIGHLY recommend the Fanny Adams ones. Bought some at HOY on my first day there and they were so comfy that I went back and bought 2 more pairs. They are great!! I also wear a black pair when I play netball and they DO NOT ride up. Have a white and flesh coloured pair for under breeches- no vpl, no movement and comfy to boot. Shes based in Blenheim I think and they were $19 each- Bargain!

Second THunderpants. Havent tried the Fanny Adams ones, but can also say that Bonds seem ok too. But can feel your pain: hate it when I am wearing the wrong underwear for riding!

Love my Thunderpants but haven't heard of the Fanny Adams ones. Might have to check them out as they are a lot cheaper than Thundies. Baroque how do you order your custom thundies?

Silver Athletic underwear are my preferred choice. I order them from a tack shop in Auckland but the name eludes me *blush* Also wear thunderpants but find them hot and sweaty on serious trail rides.

Ingrid I usually have bought them in lots of 10. Keeps me in undies for a while, but if you can get others to buy them they will make a mixed lot of sizes but from memory they do prefer one colour for the whole lot. I'm thinking of getting some more made soon, usually takes a month or so for them to run them as a special batch for me.

Baroque I would be keen if you are doing an order. About 4 pairs of medium would do, don't care about colour.
